Jim Tedford, CAWA, is President and CEO of the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators.
Dear Friends, For most of us, suffering the devastation of two major natural disasters within a few weeks of one another is unprecedented in our lifetime. No sooner had southeastern Texas begun to fully digest the magnitude of the wrath of Hurricane Harvey, islands in the Caribbean and the entire state of Florida were dealt a harsh blow by Hurricane Irma.
We love seeing so many of our members, colleagues and friends at our own conferences, but realize some people may never make it to one of our events. Because of this, we’ve committed to more and more high-quality executive level learning opportunities throughout the country.
You may already know that SAWA hosts two conferences each year — and in my humble opinion, they’re great! But we do much more than just conferences, and in the years ahead, we have plans to go even further. One of those plans is professional development for executive-level leaders.
Dear Friends, This likely won’t be the first time you’ve heard me talk about (brag about?) SAWA’s network and the tremendous value it brings to our members each and every day. I don’t apologize for my pride in the group because, quite frankly, I have built a 32-year career with my network at its foundation.
