We’re pleased to bring you the SAWA Events app, sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and VCA Animal Hospitals, your one-stop-shop for all conference needs. The SAWA Events app contains the conference agenda, session info, speaker bios and more.
Two steps to use the app:
- Search for SAWA Events in your mobile device’s app store and download it.
- Log in to the app with the same email address you used to register for the conference and use the password: 123456.
Once you’re logged in, follow the prompts provided by the app. Accept push notifications from the app to ensure you get the latest updates. To access the app’s features, swipe right to reveal the menu. Update your profile by selecting your name at the top of the menu. The app gives you the option to import your LinkedIn profile, including your profile photo, or to set your profile manually.
Here are some terms to help you learn about the app’s features. Don’t forget to tap through the app before the conference to become acquainted with it – you’ll be a pro in no time.
Think of the Activity Feed as a Twitter or Facebook feed; it offers a complete, real-time view of activity within the app.
There are two sections here – Agenda and My Agenda. Agenda gives you the full Conference agenda; My Agenda shows an agenda personalized by you.
To create your own agenda, select the sessions you want to attend. The calendar icon to the right of the session name will have a checkmark and the session will then appear in the My Agenda section.
With the attendees feature, you can see who else is at the conference. Depending on how a user fills out his or her profile, you can read their bio, check out their headshot, and select to follow them in order to receive their app updates.
To follow an attendee, select an attendee from the full attendee list. Once you are in profile view, select the head & shoulders icon in the top right of the screen. The plus sign next to the icon will turn to a check mark. To access your following feed, go to your profile and select Network at the bottom right of the screen.
Bookmark speakers and exhibitors to save for a later time. You can save speakers if you enjoyed their presentation, or exhibitors as a reminder to check out their booth at the Expo.
If you don’t know an attendee’s contact information, no problem. You can privately message attendees directly through this app. They’ll receive a notification when you send a message.
To update your push notification and other settings, go to your profile and select edit profile. Then, select the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen. This will bring up a list of settings for you to choose from and set as you please.
Share photos (or plain text posts) in the app by using the Photo Feed. Select Photo Feed then select the compose icon in the top right of the screen. Snap a pic and add a short description for it to appear in your activity.
You can also share your update on your personal Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn profiles, but make sure you’ve linked them first.
If you missed the chance to reset your password during initial login, you can do so by logging out of the app, then selecting the reset password option in the initial login menu.
